    • Hello! We use thin to medium batting (not high-loft). Machine quilting is preferred, and machine quilting is required on all infant and toddler size quilts (our agencies request that the smaller quilts are not tied). If you tie a child or teen size quilt, please use cotton crochet thread only, no yarn, no embroidery floss. The cotton crochet thread easiest to use is #10 weight, like Aunt Lydia’s. Please double the thread on the needle (no knots on the needle) then go in and out of the quilt sandwich twice, in a small x or cross or T pattern. Leave at least 2 inches on each tail. Tie the tails together in two knots, then trim the tails to about
1 1/2 inches. Please place the ties no more than 6 inches apart on a quilt. If you have questions please email us at Info@azblankets4kids.com. Thank you!
