Quilt and Blanket Sizes:
Infant: 38″ to 40″ square
Toddler: 38″ x 44″ to 40″ x 46″
Child: 40″ x 48″
Teen: 40″ x 56″ to 42″ x 60″
Sizes are approximate but should not be smaller than the suggested sizes listed above.
Crochet or knit blankets should be made of washable acrylic yarns (please, no wool or cotton yarn). Please use kid-friendly colors of yarn. Blankets should be closely knit or crocheted to prevent tiny fingers poking through or becoming intertwined. Crochet or knit blankets should be at least 40″ x 40″ in size.
No-sew fleece blankets should have a border and be tied according to pattern directions. If the edges are knotted, please adjust the tension and position of the knots, so the blanket lies flat when completed. Colors and patterns of fleece should be age-appropriate and the size should be at least 40″ x 40.” See the pattern titled “Quick No-Sew Fleece Blanket, Toddler to Teen.”
If you’re looking for a simply sewn fleece blanket, see the pattern titled “Easy Fleece Blanket with Hemmed Edge.” Fleece comes in a wide variety of fun patterns and panels. This pattern shows you a technique to finish fast.
