Towerpoint Bee 2024

March 23, 2024 – partly cloudy – 🌤️  81°

We had a great gathering of 52 guests at our Towerpoint Bee. The big ballroom had been decorated previously to celebrate workers and was perfect for us with a busy bee theme. Our kind hosts provided coffee and donuts for breakfast, followed by a delicious salad luncheon. It was nice to step away from our work, cross the beautiful courtyard and focus completely on our food and friends.

Letty made a pretty-in-pink Easter themed gift basket that Sandy Howell was tickled pink to win. Even though Sandy was in the process of cleaning out her sewing room, she said the basket stays! The basket was an antique from Letty’s collection that found a happy new home.

Our lucky 50/50 winner was Annette Hammond, a seasonal resident at Towerpoint who spends summers at her home in Canada. She was excited to win $135 and Helen Clark happily accepted the other half of the prize on behalf of our Towerpoint Quilter hosts.

Bee By the Numbers:

  •  26 finished quilts came “in the door”
  •  43 quilts were finished at the Bee
  •  69 wonderful blugs (blanket hugs) went out the door at the end of the day to meet their new huggers (kids)
