Last Wednesday, February 9th, we were having fun with our friends in Gold Canyon at the Arizonian RV Resort. The weather was sunny and gorgeous. The food was plentiful and delicious. The volunteers were having a blast and getting things done! We had 61 smiling attendees and we were so happy to see those smiles. A lot of these smiles were directed at photographer/videographer/woman-of-many-talents, Connie Grant. Check out this excellent video of our day!
Two ladies may have been smiling larger than most. Denise and Laurie were our big winners of the day. Denise Bell won our giant Valentine themed door prize basket. Denise has been a volunteer with AZB4K for 10 years and this is her first door prize basket win! Laurie Hooper took home a big wad ‘o cash from the 50/50 raffle. This popular raffle has two big winners. The holder of the winning ticket takes half the winnings from ticket sales for the day and the other half goes to our host group for this Bee. Our kind hosts at the Arizonian took great care of us from the bright and cheerful facilities, to the coffee and breakfast treats, to the delicious salad lunch.
We had an extra special treat with Elliot in the house! Elliot served on the AZB4K Board of Directors back in the day. Let’s not count the days or years, but it’s been too long. Thanks for coming out to sew with us, Elliot! We hope to see you again soon.
Our next bee is coming up on Saturday, February 26th, at La Hacienda RV Resort in Apache Junction. We hope to see many of you there!
